Doors 7pm, Show 7:30pm $20 adv / $25 DOS Brivele is a Seattle-based duo who braid together Yiddish song, anti-fascist and labor balladry, folk-punk, and contemporary rabble-rousing in stirring vocal harmony. In Yiddish, Brivele ( עלעווירב ( means "little letter." Like letters, songs travel — through time and over borders. They pick up dirt, aromas, fingerprints. They are sent to lovers, they foment revolution, they get stolen and censored, burned and salvaged, sewn into our clothes. Brivele is Maia Brown and Stefanie Brendler, who journey into the archives of Yiddish anti-fascist musical tradition, bringing together anti authoritarian satire, mournful remembrances, and the disguised political commentary in folk ditties and theater classics. These songs are a correspondence: ancestors' voices speaking clearly and uncompromisingly, sometimes sweetly, to the present moment. brivele.com A Glezele Tey (Yiddish for “a little glass of tea”) invites you into their living room for a little glass of tea from the samovar, bringing audiences into an intimate and enthralling world of klezmer, Yiddish folk song, and tkhines (traditional Ashkenazi prayers centering the experiences of women, trans, and gender non-conforming people, set to new melodies). Drawing from old recordings and contemporary culture rooted in the Eastern European Jewish diaspora, A Glezele Tey’s music is an act of deep care—rooted in community gathering, lineage, and ritual, we raise our collective voices to move through grief, inspire action, and build a frayer velt (a freer world). A Glezele Tey is comprised of acclaimed klezmer musicians and composers Ariel Shapiro, Rachel Leader, and Richie Barshay. aglezeletey.com

Flamy Grant / Olivia Ellen Lloyd

Jalopy Theatre

Flamy Grant / Olivia Ellen Lloyd

$20 ADV / $25 DOS 8:00PM DOORS / 8:30PM SHOW Shame-slaying, hip-swaying, chart-topping performer Flamy Grant is a powerhouse vocalist and award-winning songwriter based in Asheville, NC. With over 1.5 million streams on digital platforms, a win at the 2023 Kerrville New Folk contest, and a 2025 International Folk Music Awards nomination for Artist of the Year, Flamy blends country, folk, gospel, and roots music to deliver a theatrical, therapeutic, and wholly original experience of intrepid storytelling, all shared through the evocative art of drag. Raised in the oldest town in West Virginia, Olivia Ellen Lloyd learned to sing and play guitar at the feet of her father, Greg. Surrounded by the area’s natural beauty, Olivia spent her childhood canoeing down the Potomac, hiking the Blue Ridge, and driving 60+ on back roads in the Eastern Panhandle. Her songs reflect both a yearning to return to that simplicity and natural beauty and the inner strength needed to plunge forward into the unknown. After a college scholarship took her to Michigan, Olivia spent her early twenties rambling around North and Central America. She tried being a flight attendant, a waitress, a teacher — a little bit of everything. But through every phase in her life, songwriting has been a constant through-line. She was a finalist at the Ark songwriting competition in 2012, played Ann Arbor’s Art Fair stage, had her Tiny Desk Contest featured in the 2019 roundup of notable videos, and has made at least five separate people cry during one of her shows at Pete’s Candy Store.

Theater in Asylum presents: 7 Deadly Sins Cabaret

Pride. Greed. Wrath. Lust. Envy. Gluttony. Sloth. These seven impulses have endured in the human imagination for thousands of years. What do they mean now? Are they sins? Are deadly? Are they escapable? For Theater in Asylum’s next cabaret, we ask artists to create a 10-20 minute original theater piece looking at the Seven Deadly Sins. Artists may focus on one or multiple of these sins, disparately or as a set. Theater in Asylum will be bringing an except from its still-gestating Faust pieces featuring the Seven Deadly Sins individually personified. More info coming soon! We’d like to thank The Puffin Foundation for their support of this project. The 7 Deadly Sins Cabaret is sponsored, in part, by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by Brooklyn Arts Council.

Michael Daves & Jacob Jolliff

Jalopy Theatre

Michael Daves & Jacob Jolliff

Doors 8pm, Show 8:30pm Michael Daves and Jacob Jolliff are two of America’s premier bluegrass talents. After years of collaborating in various bands and informal settings they have teamed up as a formidable duo featuring high lonesome vocal harmony and fiery flatpicking. Their sound is an homage to the classic guitar-mandolin “brother duets” while leaving plenty of room for improvisation and inspired left turns. They effortlessly straddle the line between hard-core traditional bluegrass and experimental forms. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Michael Daves grew up playing bluegrass in the grand old tradition of staying up late & singing loud. Although he’s since moved north, the Southern roots permeate his music, however traditional or experimental. Heralded as “a leading light of the New York bluegrass scene” by the New York Times, Daves has garnered attention for his work with Chris Thile, Steve Martin, Tony Trischka, Bruce Molsky and others in addition to his solo performances. His album “Sleep With One Eye Open” with Thile earned a 2011 Grammy nomination. Daves is also one of the most experienced instructors in bluegrass music, with a vocal school on ArtistWorks, presentations at many festivals, camps, and institutions including Carnegie Hall, and a private studio going back to the mid- 1990s. Jacob Jolliff has become one of the country's most notable contemporary mandolinists. He was a member of the beloved New England roots band Joy Kills Sorrow, while attending Berklee School of Music on a full scholarship. In 2012, Jolliff won the National Mandolin Championship in Winfield, KS. Now a fixture of the national bluegrass community, he has collaborated and shared the stage with Darol Anger, Sam Bush, Ronnie McCoury, Jerry Douglas, Tony Trischka, and David Grisman among others. When Joy Kills Sorrow disbanded in 2014, Jolliff got the call to join Yonder Mountain String Band with whom he toured full time through 2019. In 2022 Jolliff released a self-titled Jacob Jolliff Band album and toured with Béla Fleck as part of My Bluegrass Heart. Photo credit: Aidan Grant

They remain at the forefront of the explosion of women instrumentalists and all-women acts in roots music and their impact is striking and measurable – not just in North America, but around the globe. Now 15 years since their origin, Della Mae can boast their strongest lineup yet. Founders Kimber Ludiker and Celia Woodsmith are joined by guitarist and songwriter Avril Smith and vocalist and two-time IBMA Bass Player of the Year Vickie Vaughn. There has never been a band like Della Mae in roots music before, but thanks to Kimber Ludiker, Celia Woodsmith, Avril Smith, Vickie Vaughn – and all of the women who have been part of this band over its long life – we know there will be many more bands, singers, songwriters, and pickers just like Della Mae in the future.
